OTD in August (and beyond)

There are 2 really nice things about our sparse show schedule these days.

1) We have more time to write LOTS of new songs. And we're pleased to say you'll be seeing some new recordings out of us very soon.

2) We get really pumped up for every show we play. And September 5th at Oliver's (Cask & Flagon) will be no exception.

So don't worry about On The Drop going anywhere. Though we may play less shows than we used to; we still love this band, need this band, and feel a deep seeded urge to rock faces off. Maybe when we're in our 70s, we'll have shows once a year, where they'll wheel us out on the stage with oxygen tanks and we shit ourselves after each song... but we'll still be here god dammit!

Hope everyone is having a great summer free of ticks and poison ivy... but speaking of itching... On The Drop has been itching to rock your face off.After months of downright laziness, we can't wait to start playing again... and we'll be bringing a big greasy bag full of new tunes too. So don't miss your one chance to see OTD in Boston this summer. Come to Bill's bar on July 25th. Also, keep an eye on the calendar for fall dates soon to be posted.

Well, we took a little break (yawn, stretch). Much needed, you know how it is... But we're excited to pick things up again, start playing some shows, see all you folks, and get the next album in the works. Drop us a line to say hello and keep an eye out for new shows to be added soon.

The Rumble is On

On The Drop will finally be a part of the WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble. We'll compete in a Round 1 show at Harpers Ferry on Thursday April 10th. Please come out and show the support.

Lullabies and Dynamite is now available at Newbury Comics stores across Massachusetts, and at Bullmoose Music stores in Portland ME, Salem NH, and Portsmouth NH.

It will be available on CDbaby in the coming weeks, and iTunes soon after that. We'll keep you posted.

CD Release Party... hangover

Well, I'm sitting at home on this Monday afternoon... took the day off, much need as I'm still recooperating from Saturday night. Thank you all so much for coming out. It was an amazing night. The show was sold out at about 10pm. We're sorry to all of those who got turned away at the door... but you can catch us next weekend at Harper's Ferry and get the new disc then.

Hope you all are enjoying the new record. It was really exciting to see people actually getting it into their hands finally... and don't worry, we're already working on the next one... so it won't take three yeasr this time!

Thanks again, especially to you folks who have been supporting us and patiently waiting. We really appreciate it.

Today "Lullabies and Dynamite" arrived. The band gethered at the studio to check em out, play some music, sip cheap champagne and eat buffalo wings. It was the first time, for me anyway, that i really felt like it was done.

I'm pumped, they look and sound awesome. We think so anyway... and hopefully you all think it was worth the wait!

Your first shot to buy one will be at the CD Release show at Bill's Bar on this Saturday night (Dec. 8th). Next week sometime they'll start being available on the web and at Newbury Comics stores.

Laying down a new track

Now that the album is done and being pressed, we have more time to do other stuff. So yesterday we laid down the music to new song in a studio at Northeastern University. Jim will go back later in the week to throw down some vocal tracks. It's part of a project that some Music Industry majors are working on... It's a pretty cool thing that they're doing, and we're happy to help out (and a chance to record one of our new tunes is an added bonus). The new song is called "the best" and when it's done maybe we'll throw it out on the web somwhere for y'all to hear.

It's just one of a whole bunch of new material we have in the works. We're already looking toward the next album and really getting the ball rolling with writing stuff, so hopefully you won't have to wait 3 years for the next one!

Here it comes. Fianlly after 3 years of patiently waiting, "Lullabies and Dynamite" is coming out. The release party will be on December 8th at Bill's Bar... You can get all the details on our website. We were mixing and tweaking write up until the bitter end, but it's officially out of our hands. The discs are being printed somewhere in New Jersey as I write this. Can't wait to get em in your hands.
